Designing for other designers is both challenging and refreshing. We were so excited to design this interior design logo. When you work with a person with such a keen aesthetic, it’s important that their vision is represented, but also that their branding goals are met. It’s great to share a vocabulary and a passion for colours, patterns and texture with a client, but it’s also important to remind the designer that the brand is for their ideal customer, not just for them.
The Client
Jennifer Woch of House of J Interior Design is a self-proclaimed creator and dreamer. Her brand needed to reflect her creativity and timelessness as well as her own unique style and love for colour. She has a big personality and has designed a variety of interiors: from super modern restaurants to casual and relaxed homes. Jennifer truly wants to make your space livable, functional and totally your own.
The Design
We were inspired by the charm of older homes. There is a life and character to them that adds richness and story to the family that chooses to live in them. An older home may have been updated a dozen times in its lifetime, something unique for every family that lived there and their stage of life. There is something to be said about making your home your own!
While it doesn’t translate on screen, the house on all of Jennifer’s materials is printed in metallic ink. This gives her interior design logo a sense of luxury, without being overbearing or ostentatious. The complementary colours of blue and green are calming and natural. A traditional font, Mrs Eaves, has been used throughout the brand to create a sense of heritage and timelessness.
